Still have questions?Yes. Aurora Security's core protection features are currently free to use. SMS, calls, mobile data, roaming, and other third-party services may incur charges under your plan or provider.
Routine conversations and everyday background audio are not continuously uploaded to Aurora, and routine sound analysis happens on your device. If you enable alarm-audio sharing, video evidence, or optional AI-improvement uploads, Aurora may process or attempt to transmit event-related audio according to your settings. Alarm clips are up to 5 seconds; successfully recorded video can be up to 10 seconds and may include audio.
Aurora and its team do not receive a continuous live feed of your daily life. If you enable emergency alerts, location sharing, audio sharing, video evidence, or optional AI improvement, related information may be shared with the recipients and services described in the Privacy Policy.
Aurora uses the microphone when you enable detection or evidence features. When you turn on an alert, location sharing, or location tracking and grant location permission, Aurora uses the location supplied by the device. Camera and microphone are used when you enable video evidence; video evidence is up to 10 seconds, can include audio, and is shared according to your settings.5
When you choose to turn on AI analysis, Aurora provides context about supported sound signals to help you and trusted contacts understand whether the situation deserves attention. AI results are decision support; in an emergency, rely on the situation, your and your trusted contacts' judgment, and appropriate help-seeking action.4
Now Aurora uses a general-purpose model. Optional de-identified 5-second alarm clips from real emergency triggers help us collect the distress sounds and signals needed to fine-tune and train safer future models. That feedback loop helps Aurora improve for the people who rely on it most.
Aurora includes filtering to reduce obvious false alarms and gives you a short cancellation window before alerts are sent. That extra step helps balance responsiveness with everyday practicality.
In an emergency, Aurora can attempt to send alerts to the trusted contacts you choose through LINE, Telegram, push notification, SMS, or phone call, together with a help message and your location link.
